Remember John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt? True story: his friends called him “Jack.”

What does that have to do with the price of sheet rock? Nothing. But it sums up why we’ve shortened our name from Minnesota Building Trades Federal Credit Union to Building Trades Credit Union, or just BTCU. Why? 1) It’s what you call us already. 2) It’s going to make it a lot easier answering our phone. And 3) it says simply and directly who we are—the credit union that understands the special financial needs of building trades people like no one else ever will.

This month your will receive your new membership card for Building Trades Credit Union. Pretty sweet, huh? Our new name and logo are the first of many exciting changes you’ll see in the months ahead. There’ll be a new website. New and improved online banking. And a renewed commitment to giving you simple solutions and the financial help you need in these complicated times.

Can you say that about the big banks? While they were taking massive bailouts and cutting off credit to people who really needed it, BTCU didn’t take (or need) a dime of taxpayers’ money. Plus, we have plenty of money to lend. Right now!

So put your new card in your wallet now and start making the most of your BTCU membership today. Open a checking account. Take out a loan. Ask us for some advice. And while you’re at it, pat yourself on the back for choosing BTCU—the one financial institution that actually takes care of its members with honest, straightforward solutions.

BTCU. We’re here for you.
